Relinquishing Responsibility
Much of the suffering most people endure stems from the idea that there is a 'someone' responsible for what is thought, said and done.
However, once we 'go back' or 'zoom out' in time and space, it is clear that it is impossible that a particular individual, group, country, culture etc is responsible for what happens; everything is interconnected - and all that is is a combination of the whole. Events and situations are not caused by one or two individuals or groups - they are made up of everything.
Rather than trying to find 'the responsible one', which is an impossible pursuit, we can focus our attention on connecting with the essence of the event or situation.
What happened?
Where was the disconnect?
What was the experience?
These enquiries are more likely to lead you to a lighter place than: 'It's all my/their fault'.
