Being with Sensations
Being with bodily sensations allows what is present in the body to be experienced directly, without the mind making meaning of it.
The mind often interprets raw sensation as emotion, and then builds a narrative around it, such as interpreting a fluttering in the chest as anxiety, fear or the sensing of danger. In these circumstances, what is temporary and impersonal can be made into something personal and serious. In many circumstances, a false self is judged for having the sensation or emotion.
Awareness notices sensations come and go, that they pass through the system with or without an explanation, excuse or story - however, without the explanation, excuse or story it is far more peaceful and no effort at all.
When sensation is experienced without a story, it remains what it is, and moves in its own time.
