Clouds

On this Galway bus ride,

I stare out of the glass,

And there in the sky I eye

You drifting past.

This may be obvious but

I never knew,

That all of my wanting lifts when

I look at you.

I want to tell universes that

You are my source.

When my waves are crashing,

You are my shore.

The deepest breath,

The clearest step,

The longest rest can’t compare

To the peace that my soul feels,

When I see you floating there.

Silence comes simply,

Thoughts lose their need.

As I see you morphing,

I feel free.

Endless movies you make

In open air.

No matter what manifests,

You are always there.

I want to tell universes that

You are my source.

When my waves are crashing,

You are my shore.

The deepest breath,

The clearest step,

The longest rest can’t compare

To the peace that my soul feels,

When I see you floating there.

Brushstrokes blowing,

Cotton buds growing into lands

Of beaming white, grey and

Silvery strands.

Without thinking you drift

Across the blue,

Before you drift again in

To something new.

I want to tell universes that

You are my source.

When my waves are crashing,

You are my shore.

The deepest breath,

The clearest step,

The longest rest can’t compare

To the peace that my soul feels,

When I see you floating there.
