Perspective

What do you see,
When you look at tree?
Habitat for creepy crawling?
Model for a pencil drawing?
Jungle gym for swinging and climbing?
Source of complimentary dining?
Meeting spot for romance, budding?
Friend who might delight in hugging?
Perch?
Urinal?
Miraculous material?
Ideal place to hide,
Or be all ethereal?

Or, do you see,
When you look at tree,
Thing that thwarts your valued view?
Unpleasant pest to be removed?
Source of neighbourly dispute?
Property that’s yours to loot?
Too bare, too full, too short, too tall?
Or do you see no tree at all?

Do you see, from looking at tree,
Your reality is created by the mind?
You choose the world that you perceive.
You search for what you want to find.

So consider very carefully,
How you choose to relate to what you see;
With affection or adversity?
How will you create reality?
