Sunny Bliss

On this day of sunny bliss,
When people’s smiles feel like a kiss
And cups are hugged with lazy grips,
I can’t help stop and wonder this.

What if life was one grand gift,
No matter what the weather gives?
Would our world be less amiss?
I can’t help stop and wonder this.

Does champagne lose its friendly fizz?
Do wishing wells not take my wish?
Does light not shine in midnight mist?
I can’t help stop and wonder this.

Do dogs withhold their wags and licks?
Does this mocha taste less rich?
Do babies lose their mothers lips?
I can’t help stop and wonder this.

What if grey skies made colours more vivid?
What if the rain washed away our divisions?
What if the wind swept us up in a vision?
What if the dark brought honesty with it?

What if the snow storied angels and heavens?
What if the cold warmed up our intentions?
What if the lightening sparked realisations?
What if the clouds drifted us into presence?

On this day of sunny bliss,
When people’s smiles feel like a kiss
And cups are hugged with lazy grips,
I can’t help stop and wonder this.

What if life was one grand gift,
No matter what the weather gives?
Would our world be less amiss?
I can’t help stop and wonder this.
