The Garden

Close your eyes for a moment
And imagine with me a garden;
A community garden,
Where every member has a key.

Here, soul-nourishing banquets bloom,
As we cozy up beneath a twinkling canopy
Of fairy lights laced around sweet-scented shrubbery

Impromptu sing-a-longs and salsa soirees are conjured
From a desire for intimacy and play.
Birds chirp, birches sway, joining in the fun.

During the day, macchiatos are made;
Cards are laid and felines laze in dappled shade.

In this garden, a smiling eye, listening ear,
Warm shoulder, helping hand is guaranteed.
Gatherings to fertilise our growth are hosted.

Plants are watered, art performed,
Causes supported;
The power of love and laughter
Alive in every moment.

In this garden, needs are met,
Naturally, harmoniously, organically;
A wonder world realised
By the connected community.

This garden is alive not in mind,
But in heart,
And together,
In how we choose to be with ourselves and others,
We can experience this heaven on earth;

For our hearts delight,
And for hearts that thrum
Long after ours stop thrumming.

All-in, for all;
What say you?
