Living Life as an Experiment

When life is lived as an experiment, it loses its heaviness and seriousness.

In this state, a sense of curiosity, openness, wonder and playfulness is present. Each time we notice a thought, speak a word, do a thing, we are testing.

When we live life as an experiment, there are no good nor bad choices; no should’s nor should not’s; no personal successes nor failings. Everything done is done in the spirit of discovering who we are and who we wish to be. All thoughts, words and actions are simply “options” we test or don’t test in the experiment.

What does this create? How about this? And how about this?

And our experience shows us the answers.

When we live life as an experiment, becoming aware of ways in which we can be more loving, truthful, joyful — ourselves — can be an experience of joy, instead of condemnation. Uncovering falsities, misunderstandings, errors in thinking, is all part of the experiment!

Perhaps try experimenting with conceptualising living life as an experiment — and see how it feels.
