I am Here
So much of life I’ve wanted more,
To be the one that people saw,
To find my gift and be someone inspiring.
This image I had in my mind,
Of being good, of being wise,
Removed me from my natural state of knowing:
I am here.
So much of life I’ve caught myself,
Morphing into someone else,
Defending who I am and what I stand for.
As I grow and grow in size,
The quiet presence in me dies,
And with it goes my natural state of knowing:
I am here.
So much of life I’ve felt the need
To give to those who wish not to receive,
And gave I did with stretched smiles a plenty.
Once I drained my sources dry,
I felt the void, I heard the cry:
This cannot be love that I am showing.
I am here.
Now I am at peace with life;
Without a need to prove nor strive,
Being true with all who I encounter.
The heavens dance, the heavens sing,
When I’m in love with every thing,
Knowing it is joyous seeds I’m sewing.
I am here.
