Expanding Awareness
This practice can be used when a situation feels weighted, urgent, or narrow in focus. It supports a widening of attention, allowing the immediate to be seen within a larger field of space and time.

Practice
Take three deep breaths, attending to the experience of breathing.
Bring attention to the task or situation appearing.
Expand the attention,
Into the room as a whole,
The building, the street outside.
Widen further,
The wider area, the city,
The land around it, the country.
Attention continues outward,
The Earth and the stars,
The vast space around it all.
Now, widen the sense of time.
Five years from now.
Ten years.
A hundred years.
A hundred thousand years.
